A call to developers

Sadly, Prose is vaporware. I wish it existed, but it simply doesn’t. I’m very sorry if I led you on in a nasty way.

Most of the features mentioned in the fake feature list are already seen in other apps, most notably in Blue-Tec’s excellent Ulysses — my primary tool for longer texts. I do however feel there is room for the kind of editor proposed here — a stance against feature bloat, which doesn’t compromise on the features writers need. The adaptive capabilities and the unobtrusiveness of the graphic user interface would be it’s greatest — and most unique — features.

It’s not likely that I will code this app myself in the foreseeable future. I’m a psychiatrist and an amateur writer, with a slim chance of ever learning Objective C. If you are a developer for the Mac OS X platform and if you’re willing to try making an app for the writers market I urge you to give this concept a try.

Feel free to contact me. I’d be glad to help out in any way I can.
